Heart-Eye-Mind: Women Cinematographers Talk About Their Cinema

We successfully held the panel titled “Heart-Eye-Mind: Women Cinematographers Talk About Their Cinema…” as part of the 31st Adana Golden Boll Film Festival!

This year, we take great pride in the fact that four out of the eleven films in the festival’s national feature film category were shot by women cinematographers. The increasing presence of women cinematographers in the documentary and short film categories, and their growing visibility, has been marked as a turning point in the world of cinema. For perhaps the first time in Turkey and possibly globally, we have witnessed such a strong representation, and we have recorded this historical moment through the words of women cinematographers.

In the panel, which took place with the valuable contributions of Meryem Yavuz, Deniz Eyüboğlu, Ece Latifaoğlu, and Zeynep Seçil, moderator Neslihan Siligür guided discussions on the challenges of being a woman in cinema, stories of success, and contributions to the art of film. This unforgettable event, organized within the 3rd Çukurova Golden Boll Film Academy, once again highlighted the strength and vision of women in the world of cinema.

As we celebrate the spirit of the festival and the achievements of women filmmakers, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all the participants who witnessed these inspiring moments.
