As the Cinematographers’ Association of Turkey, we are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our esteemed master, Özdemir Öğüt, one of the prominent figures in the Turkish cinema. He was the cinematographer for iconic Turkish films such as Turist Ömer Uzay Yolunda, Karaoğlan Geliyor, and Feride, and has been a significant cornerstone of our cinema.
The values and works Özdemir Öğüt contributed to cinema will forever remain in the memory of Turkish cinema and the field of cinematography. We extend our condolences to his family and loved ones.
Özdemir Öğüt’s funeral will be held on Thursday, August 8, following the afternoon prayer at the Fatih Mosque in Istanbul.
